'Dance Elixir, the newest company to appear on the Melbourne dance scene, features five young women who have created some of the more intriguingly original dance seen around Melbourne in the past year or two....intelligent and thoughtful performances.. a duo in which the dancers seemed to be tearing away pieces of themselves with which to attack and mutilate the others gave powerful expression to the way in which passion can be transformed into an obsessive nightmare.'
'... at once you are enticed to explore the tantalising world in view.....begins with tactile textures as Jodie Farrugia delicately removes pips from her mouth tracing a pattern beside her....The intricate, detailed movement vocabulary seemed idiosyncratic of Cursio. Her duet with Catherine Watts was both inventive and witty, exploring all facets of one another...'
Maffiosi was a cartoon-ish play with Mafia-land...a jigsaw puzzle narrative danced by five chicks in nice suits.
